Located at 450 Bauchet Street in downtown LA, Twin Towers is adjacent to Men's Central Jail. We park in the visitor structure on Bauchet Street, check in at the TTCF lobby, and are cleared through security to the professional visiting area. Travel from Granada Hills is typically 35–50 minutes.
We check in with facility staff, clear security, and meet the inmate in the professional visiting area. We verify identity, review the documents, and complete the notarization. Most visits take 30–60 minutes depending on security procedures and document volume.

Before your appointment
Under California Civil Code § 1185(b)(3)(D), sheriff-issued inmate identification is acceptable ID for a signer in a local detention facility. At Twin Towers that is the LASD booking wristband the inmate wears — matched to the sheriff’s booking record — so you do not need to bring the inmate’s wallet, driver’s license, or passport. Just give us the inmate’s full legal name and booking number when you call.
Bring all pages of the document — not just the signature page. Documents should be fully prepared and ready to sign. Missing pages or incomplete forms will require a return visit. A notary cannot draft, complete, or advise on the content of a document, so anything unfinished needs to be completed by whoever prepared it, or by an attorney, before we schedule.

Twin Towers is the nation’s largest mental health facility and also houses the Inmate Reception Center (IRC) where new bookings are processed. We confirm which facility the inmate is actually housed in before scheduling.
You will need the inmate’s full legal name, date of birth, booking number, document type, your contact information, and any deadline. If the booking number is unavailable or may be incorrect, we can use the correct spelling of the inmate’s name and date of birth to help verify the current booking information through the LASD Inmate Information Center.
In most cases, no. We typically call first to confirm that Twin Towers is not on lockdown and that the inmate is available for a professional visit, then go to the facility to complete the notarization. Access can still depend on current facility operations, housing status, and inmate availability.
Inmates in medical or mental health housing may have restricted visiting access. We coordinate with the facility to determine if a professional notary visit is possible and what additional steps may be required.
